Thomas J. Vogel

Thomas J. Vogel, 67, Bismarck, passed away unexpectedly on March 21, 2019.

A celebration of his life will take place at 1:30 pm Thursday, March 28, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Deacon Terry Glatt officiating.

Family will greet visitors one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Tom was born July 13, 1951, to John and Monica (Mosbrucker) Vogel in Bismarck. A 1969 graduate of Bismarck High School, Tom was looking forward to his 50^th class reunion planned for this summer. Following in his father’s footsteps, Tom spent much of his life in the construction business. Numerous home and office buildings in the Bismarck/Mandan area are a testament to his talent.

Tom married the love of his life, Shirley Bender, and they were together over 40 years until Shirley’s death in June 2018.

Tom is survived by his brother, Kenneth (Kay); sister, Nancy (Leroy) Gross; brother, Mark (Stella); several nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Helen Joyner; sisters-in-law, Karen (Tom) O’Brien, and Marilyn (Gary) Eckroth; brothers-in-law, Gary (Patty) Bender, Mike Bender (Marlys Lupien), and Tim Bender; and his dogs, Zeus and Halo, who were his constant companions and a great source of comfort following Shirley’s passing.

Tom was preceded in death by his wife Shirley and his parents.
