Trevor W. Nielsen

February 18, 1980 — August 10, 2024

Trevor William Nielsen of Bismarck, North Dakota, went to be with the Lord on August 10, 2024.

Trevor's Celebration of Life will be held at Metro East Baptist Church, 333 N 143rd Street E, Wichita, KS 67230 on Saturday, September 14, at 2:00 PM, with a reception immediately following the service.

"Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him." 1Thessalonians 4:13-14

I hope to see you there as we honor and remember Trevor.

Trevor was born February 18, 1980, in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Dr. Douglas and Jennifer Nielsen. He graduated from Berean Academy and Wichita State University with a degree in business and entrepreneurship, ultimately establishing Black Hills Warehousing and Transportation in the Dakotas. Trevor was an avid outdoor enthusiast. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting throughout his all-too-short life. He loved spending time in the Flint Hills of Kansas and the Black Hills of South Dakota, especially with his father, family and many friends.

Trevor was a strong athlete throughout his youth, an accomplished horseman competing in rodeo events as well as training and grooming polo horses. He will be remembered for his generosity, energy, and free and fun spirit. Any attempt to describe the love and loyalty he had for his family, many friends, & business associates would be inadequate.

Trevor was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold and Dorothy Nielsen, and Robert and Mary Fankhauser; father, Dr. Douglas Nielsen; uncles, Wesley Fankhauser and Dr. William Nielsen; nephew, Samuel Massimini; & his loyal & loving dog Flint.

He is survived by his mother, Jennifer Nielsen of Wichita; sister, Arrah Leigh (Joe) Massimini of Dallas, TX; nieces, Claire and Hannah Massimini; aunt, Bronwyn (Jim) Sisul; uncle, Dr. David Nielsen, as well as several cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Berean Academy Building Fund, Box 70, Elbing, KS 67041.
