Verl was born in Hazleton to Florence (Bury) and E. Milton Jensen on December 21, 1933. Verline was born in Mercer to Justina (Bender) and Emmanuel Just on March 21, 1936. They both attended and graduated from their hometown high schools. Verl served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Verl and Verline met in Bismarck and were married August 11, 1956 in Los Angeles, California.
Verl was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He had a 40+ year career in the tele-communication industry but the promotions and transfers he accepted were influenced by the types of hunting and fishing opportunities available. This blending of career and hobby led him from North Dakota to Montana to Alaska to Washington and back to North Dakota.
Verline was a willing and ready participant in all these moves and enjoyed the outdoor activities as much as Verl, but her family was her pride and joy. She took immense pride in the accomplishments of her 4 boys, and especially her grandchildren.
Verl and Verline are survived by 3 of their sons, Stuart (Keri), Doug (Julie) and Jerry (Kathy) along with daughter-in-law Karen Leer. They are also survived by their 7 grandchildren, Jason Jensen, Mathew (Jessica) Jensen, Tyler Jensen, Kasi (Jeremy) Binnian, Machinist Mate 1st Class Garrett Jensen, Jackelyn Jensen and Karlee Jo Jensen and their 1 great-granddaughter Grace Anita Jensen. Verline is also survived by 2 sisters, Alice Neumiller and Loretta (Whitey) Schiermeister.
They were preceded in death by their oldest son Jack, all of their parents, Verl’s brothers Lyle, Elden and Royal and Verline’s brothers and sisters Leo Just, Viola Fredricksen, Elton Just, Myron Just and Rosina Free.
