Violet M. Wolf, New Perspective Memory Care of West Fargo, ND, left this earth on August 16, 2018. Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday August 24th at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck with Pastor Larry Giese officiating. Burial will take place following the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5pm to 8pm at Parkway Funeral Service. Violet was born in McIntosh County, ND on April 29,1934 to Henry C. Wolf and Martha Scheuffele Wolf. Violet was baptized and confirmed at the Lutheran Church in McIntosh County. Violet was educated in McIntosh County and graduated from Ashley High School and Aberdeen Business College. On March 22, 1953 Violet married Elton G. Wolf of Wishek, ND. They moved to Bismarck in 1953. Violet worked at a dry cleaner until the children were born. After the children had moved on, she worked for ND Retail Association and later managed a Fanny Farmer Candy store. Service to others was a must for Violet. Violet and Elton were honored by the Bismarck Mandan Chamber of Commerce for their volunteer work. In 2001 they were recognized for their service by the ND Coordinators of Volunteer Service with the Volunteer Action Award. Places she volunteered at included Lutheran Churches, PTA, Girl Scouts, Aid Inc., Burleigh County Senior Center, Bismarck-Medcenter One-Sanford Hospitals, Youth Works, Telephone Pioneers, RSVP, and Buckstop Junction Church. Violet also enjoyed traveling and camping. Dearly loved Violet will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Carla (Cal) Bender of West Fargo, ND, Karen Grorud of Spokane, WA, Glenn Wolf of Driscoll, ND, Marcia (Lamont) Lind of Washburn, ND; her grandchildren, Christel (Christopher) Ambuehl of West Fargo, ND, Brede (Angela) Grorud of North Pole, Alaska, Sarah (Richard) Aguilar of Spokane Valley, WA, Christy Grorud of Spokane, WA, Ryan Lind of Blue Earth, MN, and Melissa (Ryan) Harbison of Spokane, WA; her 12 great-grandchildren; her sister, Arvilla Hobbs; her brother, Howard (Doris) Wolfe; and her sisters-in-law, Irene Wolfe and Rinalde Diede. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Elton in 2002; her grandson, Chad Bender; and her sister, Laura Haller Rieker. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the donor’s choice or wear blue for a day and give a day of volunteer service.
