Virgil D. Broehl

Virgil Dean Broehl passed away January 26, 2025. Virgil was born July 13, 1931 in Wilton, North Dakota to Edmund and Elsie Broehl. He was raised on the family farm near Regan, North Dakota. His early years were spent working on the farm, herding sheep and driving truck. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with neighbors and friends.

The majority of his work years were spent operating heavy equipment for Burleigh County.

Virgil was known by family and many friends in the Regan area by the nickname Hunk or Hunky. He was a soft spoken man with a great smile and laugh. He was always willing to help anyone whenever needed.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, LeLand, Raymond, Marvin, Glen, Helen, Leona and Delores.

Virgil will be truly missed by the Peterson family, Velette, Monte and Bruce. Special thanks to Kathy Fleck for her exceptional care and friendship and Linda Tonolli for all her visits, sewing projects and beautiful homegrown flower bouquets. Thank you to all the care providers at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Centers for providing excellent care everyday. Thank you to Sandford Hospice care providers for their compassionate care.

  A private burial will take place at the Regan Cemetery.
