Virginia Grewatz

September 19, 1925 — January 24, 2021

On January 24, 2021 a truly unique and spectacular woman, Virginia Grewatz, 95, earned her angel wings and died in her son Mark’s arms of natural causes. She was loved and adored by many.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4 at First Lutheran Church, 800 N 7th St, Bismarck. For those attending, masks are required. A service livestream will be available at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbmtonCe3AM&feature=youtu.be

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck.

Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

We all have many memories of her wonderful sense of humor, candor and honesty. She worked for the Department of Disability Services and was the Sunday School secretary at First Lutheran for many years. May she rest in the peace she has earned.

Virginia is grieved by two sons, Mark (Judy) and Thane Grewatz; one daughter, Sandra Culliton; six grandsons, Travis, Shane and Jamie Culliton, and Ryan, Michael and Austin Grewatz. She is also grieved by two granddaughters, Kayla Billings and Tielle Culliton; four great-grandsons, Xander Combs, Logan, Max and Noah Culliton; and three great-granddaughters, Lily, Rowan and Naomi Culliton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Christian and Fredricka Haffner; husband, Marvin Grewatz; daughter, Dawn Grewatz; grandson, Lum Culliton; son-in-law, John Culliton; six brothers, Bill, Alvin, Tony, Howard, Walter and Vernon; and four sisters, Esther, Phyllis, Dorothy and Ella.
