Virginia D. Schmidt

Virginia D. Schmidt, 65, Bismarck, passed away on February 9, 2023 peacefully.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM, Tuesday, February 14 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.

Public visitation will be an hour prior to the service.

Virginia was born on August 30, 1957 to Emil and Alvina (Kapp) Sam in Gackle.  She was raised in Medina and graduated from Medina High School in 1975. She married Ronald “Bruno” Schmidt, Sr. in 1976. To this union three children were born, Melissa, Kristen and Ronald Jr.

Virginia worked for Don Ressler’s Collision Center for many years. Her most loved job was being a mom and grandma.

She was an active cross-stitcher and enjoyed working with ceramics in the past. She loved her children, grandchildren and cats very much.

Virginia is survived by her children, Melissa (Scott) Moran, Lincoln, Kristen (Tim Kalvoda) Schmidt, New Salem and Ronald (Kari) Schmidt Jr., Mandan; grandchildren, Alicia (Isaac) Youle, Michael Moran, Travis Schmidt, Shelby Kalvoda and Cole, Caleb, and Cuyler Schmidt; brother, Bob Sam, Minot and other family members whom she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Aaron Schmidt; siblings, Shirley Steichen, June Berge, Dwayne Sam and Gerald Sam.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Eastgate Funeral Service to be forwarded to family.
