Vivian L. Johnson, 95, of Dickinson, ND, formerly of Bismarck, passed away February 6, 2018, at St. Luke’s Nursing Home in Dickinson, ND. Services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, February 13, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Rev. Steve Sathre officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck. Vivian was born on April 15, 1922, on a farm one mile west of Osnabrock, ND, the daughter of Henry and Janetta Lundeby. She graduated from Osnabrock High School on 1940 and went on to attend Demmings Beauty School in Grand Forks. She then took a position with Youngs Beauty Shop. Vivian married S. Jens Johnson on June 4, 1943, and moved to Bismarck. Jens was in the US Army (working in meteorology at the Bismarck Airport). Following his discharge, the couple remained in Bismarck where they raised two daughters, Candace and Pamela. Vivian and Jens were members of Trinity Lutheran Church for many years. In later years, Vivian worked at the State Capitol during tax season and after Jens passed she relocated to Dickinson to be closer to her daughter. Vivian is survived by her daughters, Candace (Gary) Odegaard, Dickinson, and Pamela (Ken) Owens, Sun Lakes, AZ; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by siblings, Adelene Kepler, Eileen (Bill) Fahnlander, Marvin (Jeanette) Lundeby, Curt (Patricia) Lundeby; and numerous nieces and nephews. Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, Jens; her parents; her brothers, Cecil, Arnold, and Kenneth; her sister, Evelyn; brothers-in-law, Wallace Rude and Harold Kepler; sisters-in-law, Margaret Lundeby and Mary Lundeby; and many of Jens’ family members.
