Vladimir Mirkovic, 65, Bismarck, died Thursday, October 3, 2019 unexpectedly but peacefully in his home. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, October 7, 11:00 AM, at Parkway Funeral Service 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck with Deacon Brent Naslund officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Funeral Service.
Burial will be on Monday, October 7, at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Vladimir was born June on 21, 1954 in Orubica-Nova Gradiska, Croatia and moved to Bismarck, ND with his wife and kids in 1995. In Croatia, he worked as a Cargo Ship Captain for 20 years and travelled all over the European Seas where he developed his love for the water and fishing. Vladimir loved to spend time with his kids and his only grandchild. He was avid fishermen, loved cooking, and spent some free time watching soccer.
He is survived by his wife, Ajka Mirkovic, Bismarck; his three children, Anita Mirkovic, Bismarck; Edita Mirkovic, Boston; Edvina Mirkovic, Austin; his grandson Nikola; sons-in-law Boris and Jonathan; sister and brothers-in-law Indira, Zlatan, Hedda and Adnan; three nephews Roman, Arijan and Edwin; and his four brothers, a sister and numerous family members who reside in Croatia and Germany.
He is preceded in death by his mother Milka and father Vinko.
Contributions in memory of Vladimir can be made to his wife Ajka Mirkovic to help cover medical and funeral costs.
