William C. Martin

William Charles “Bill” Martin died August 9, 2024, at Bismarck, ND at the age of 75. 

Bill requested no services and will be laid to rest alongside his parents in Crosby, ND.

Bill was born on September 10, 1948, in Crosby, ND to Dorthy Finke Martin and Clarence Elmer “Bus” Martin. He graduated from Crosby High School in 1966 and went to Dickinson State University, graduating in 1971 with a degree in business. He worked his entire career for the North Dakota State Emergency Services in Bismarck.

Bill was always happiest at his family cabin at White Bear Lake, Saskatchewan. He kept the cabin for over fifty years, enjoying the longtime friendships he had. He sold it when the trips from Bismarck to central Saskatchewan became a chore rather than a pleasure. Bill could often be found driving the country roads around Bismarck. He always loved the prairie scenery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Bus Martin. 

He is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandy and Dale Keep of Walla Walla, WA, Susan and Randy Maddalena of Groveland, California, a surrogate sister, Barbara Nelson Rostad of Hauser, Idaho, four nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his aunt, Carol Finke Pyne of College Place, WA as well as several cousins.
