Anna Goy, 26, passed from this life on December 26, 2021, at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck. Anna was born on December 20, 1995, in Bismarck, to Tina and Trent Goy.
Anna’s life was not an easy one due to a multitude of medical issues that followed her through her shortened life. An early surgery deprived her of her speech ability, but this factor did not prevent Anna from expressing her wants, desires and needs. She had expressive eyes that expressed both her joy and displeasure.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 3, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, with Rev. Scott Bauman officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Sunday January 2, at Parkway Funeral Home, Bismarck. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Monday.
Although she suffered much during her life, she had a joyful heart, a feisty spirit and a smile that could light up the room. She did not hide her emotions and you always knew when she was happy, when she was sad, or when she wanted to tease and play with those close to her.
She loved her time with Bismarck Public Schools, HIT, her Support Systems’ caregivers, and her family. Anna lived an active life despite her physical limitations. She especially loved spending time at the Dakota Zoo, enjoyed long stroller rides, shopping, her daily coffee at Hit and sitting on the various couches watching music videos and her deep love of all music. She loved her time at home with her mother and stepfather who, with the help of dedicated caregivers, provided the 24-hour care Anna required to maintain her quality of life.
She is survived by her mother, Tina Mower (Richard Mower); father, Trent Goy (Shalaine Goy); brother, Isaac Goy, and step-siblings, Bianca Smith (Dillon Smith); David Swift, Gabriella Swift, Daniel Swift; grandparents, LaVerne Morrissette, Donna Goy-Edwards (Rick Edwards); uncle, Joe Morrissette, Jr. (Kris Morrissette) and cousins, Joseph Morrissette III (Katynka Morrissette); Jacob Morrissette and Jeremiah Morrissette (Emma Noble), along with bonus aunts, uncles and a large group cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Joe Morrissette, Sr., who was a special person in her life, along with cousin, Joshua Morrissette. She was also preceded in death by her additional grandparents, Roland D. Mower (Nona Iva Lee Mower) and aunt Connie Mower.
We know that Anna is especially happy to be reunited with her Grandpa Joe and Josh who are now able to hear all that she had to say to them but was never able to put into words in this life. We miss her until we are reunited with her in eternity.
