Donna Mae (Schumacher) Berg, 90, Bismarck, passed away on May 24, 2022.
Donna was born on August 10, 1931, to Jacob and Mary (Aichele) Schumacher. She was born and raised on their farm in Robinson with her sisters and brother (Alma, Irene, and Alvin). Donna and Ivan Lange were married in 1947 and raised four children (Darrel, James, Susan, and Bruce). They farmed in the Robinson and Woodworth area before moving to Carrington. She worked hard on the farm in earlier years. Her, Ivan, and the kids moved to Carrington around 1951 and stayed for a few years. Around 1967, they moved to Bowden and lived on the Herman Widicker farm for many years. Donna and Bruce moved to Regan for a few years when she was married to Dwight Nash. She also lived in Stanton for a few years when she was married to Edwin Berg. Bismarck has been her home for the past 35 years. She enjoyed dancing, going to the Casino, and going to rummage sales to find a good deal. She also enjoyed spending time with and talking on the phone with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her special friend Greg Emery. Greg and Donna spent a lot of time together over the past 35 years and we thank him for all that he has done to keep her active and engaged in living life to its fullest.
She will be forever in our hearts, and we are thankful for the memories we have of her.
Donna is survived by her brother-in-law, Alvin Patzner; sister-in-law, Lorraine Schumacher; daughter, Susan (Wade) Dunbar; special friend, Greg Emery; daughters-in-law, Vickie Lange, Spokane, Wash., and Jackie (Dale) Hire, Bonners Ferry, Ida.; grandchildren, Tony Lange, Rathdrum, Ida., Michelle Lange, Spokane, Wash., Tammy (Casey) Birsette, Athol, Ida., Michael Lange, Bonners Ferry, Ida., Toby Dunbar, Bismarck, Chad (Megan) Dunbar, Bismarck, Alicia (Russ) Doll, Mandan, Crystal (Wes Geiger) Zabolotny, Mandan, Brian (Allen Irish-Lange) Lange, Harwood, Brandon (Bree) Lange, Fort Collins, Colo., and Tyler Lange, Fort Collins, Colo.; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
