Gayle Christenson, 79, Steele, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2021 at St. Alexius Hospital, Bismarck. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 29 at the United Methodist Church, Steele.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday at the church with a prayer service beginning at 5 p.m.
Burial will be at Zion Cemetery, Lein Township, north of Driscoll.
Gayle Ann was born on November 19, 1942 in Conway, Iowa, to Cash and Mildred (Bailey) Evans. She was raised and educated in Iowa. She worked at the National Farmers Organization Home Office in Iowa for 15 years. She was once married to Ernest Sayler and together they welcomed two children, Judy and John.
In June 1991 she married Ronald Christenson of Driscoll and joined Ron and his two children, CaRon and Connie in North Dakota. She and Ron had an auction business for 25 years before they retired. Gayle also worked for the Kidder County Library and was most recently the acting librarian.
She attended the United Methodist Church, Steele, was a member of the Golden Manor Auxiliary and was active in the Seniors Club in Steele.
Those most honored to share in her life are her husband of 30 years, Ron; children, Judy (Dale) Schneider, Tex., and John (Shirley) Sayler, Kans.; stepdaughters, CaRon (Don) Hoener, Wash., and Connie (Bill) Klesalek, Mandan; many step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cash and Mildred Evans; a sister and two step grandchildren.
